Granville, NY - Martha Race, age 90, of Granville, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Martha was born on August 28, 1933, in Granville, the daughter of the late John and Florence (Burger) Tobin. She was a graduate of Granville High School and worked for several years at the Granville Pharmace after raising five children. Martha enjoyed bowling, card playing, and shopping trips. Weekends were spent driving the beautiful countryside with her husband. She was predeceased by her son, Richard D. Race and her husband of 68 years, Vernon O. Race; also a sister Kathryn Hogan. She is survived by her four children: Vernon M. (Carol) of Queensbury, Steven (Valerie) of Florida, MaryAnn Macura (Michael) of Granville, and Thomas (Joanne) of Granville. She was bless with eight grandchildren: Jordan, Chelsea, Micahel, Adam, Ethan, Thomas, Nicole and Jeffrey; and four great grandchildren: Adalyn, Blake, Brody and Kylie. A special thank you to the staff at Slate Valley Center for the loving care they provided to our mother for the past seven months. A Christian graveside burial service was celebrated with family.
